Confirmed: Haas F1 to keep Rich Energy logos for British Grand Prix at Silverstone
Guenther Steiner has confirmed Haas Formula 1 team will continue to use Rich Energy logos for the British Grand Prix weekend despite the energy drinks company announcing a contract termination on Wednesday evening.
The blunt tweet criticised the team for poor results during the Austrian Grand Prix two weeks ago. During a Haas press conference at Silverstone circuit, Steiner confirmed the team will keep the logos on the car.
“They will be on the car this weekend and then the rest we need to sort out going forward what we are doing. The commercial agreement doesn’t let me talk any more about it and I don’t want to," Steiner told the media at Silverstone.
Despite Kevin Magnussen qualifying in P5 for the race in Austria, Rich Energy focused on the recent results for their reason behind the termination. During the season, the company has been forced to remove its logo because of copyright issues with a bike company. Steiner didn't want to add fuel to the fire.
“We are being professional about it and I think I’m known to be professional. When I can speak, I speak, when I cannot, I don’t speak. It’s no point to go into a war of words about something. It doesn’t upset me, it’s just something I need to deal with next week and I will," Steiner continued and is quoted by RaceFans.
