Whiting's 12-year old son to start British GP
Charlie Whiting's 12-year old son Justin will press the starter button for the British Grand Prix this weekend.
Whiting Sr passed away on the eve of the F1 season aged just 66 this year, and it shocked the F1 world with the sport still struggling to replace him.
There was a memorial held for Whiting at Silverstone circuit on Thursday that included speeches from his wife Juliette, Ross Brawn, Sebastian Vettel and Jean Todt.
To add to the tribute, Justin has been invited to start the race, with the supervision of Christian Bryll, who has been F1's race starter for this season.
