How did the drivers fare in each sector?
Max Verstappen qualified on pole for the Hungarian Grand Prix beating out both Mercedes and Ferrari to claim his first-ever pole position. How did the each driver fare in the individual sectors? Where did Max Verstappen make the most progress?
Max's best work was done in sector three, topping it ahead of both Mercedes in second and third. Ferrari dominated in the opening sector with a one-two but were unable to find the consistency across the entire track.
Mercedes' only success came in sector two which was topped by Valtteri Bottas but his teammate Lewis Hamilton's best result was in sector three where he placed behind Verstappen in second.
However, the Scuderia did record the fastest two times during qualifying with Sebastian Vettel recording a speed of 315.6 KM/H and Charles Leclerc 315.2 KM/H.
