Verstappen not interested in finishing second in 2019!
Max Verstappen has revealed that he has no interest in finishing second in the drivers' standings this season, despite the chances of him overtaking Lewis Hamilton for the title being slim.
Verstappen has been a man on a mission this season, espeially in recent races as he took victories in both Austria and Germany, and was onnly denied another by a stunning drive from Lewis Hamilton in Hungary.
His form in the last couple of months has seen him almost catch Valtteri Bottas, with Verstappen just seven points behind the Finn, but the gap to Hamilton is much larger, at 69 points.
However, Verstappen will not be happy with second place, as he only wants the big prize of the world title. He told De Telegraaf: “When I look back on my career in twenty years, I will not be proud of to have become vice-world champion.
"What would it change? Yes, you are the second best, but I don't care. Everything revolves around first place. Perhaps other people think differently, but for me it is all about winning".
It's surely just a matter of time until Verstappen wins a title, isn't it? Vote in our poll below!
