Alex Albon "didn't find it easy" in his first race for Red Bull
Alex Albon made his racing debut for Red Bull at the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend and the British Thai driver impressed many by climbing up the grid to finish 5th. There are things he wants to improve on and will be given an opportunity to work on these at Monza this weekend.
"First weekend done!" Albon said. "I'm pretty happy with it. It was a big moment and just to deal with all the noise from the paddock. I started off quite comfortable with the car. Had a good FP1 and even qualifying, I was happy with how it went. So yeah it wasn't bad!
"It was a tricky race. I struggled on the first stint and didn't make up as many positions as I would have liked. I just felt like the tyres weren't working. I didn't find it easy out there.
"We went to the soft tyres and suddenly the car just came alive. I was really happy with how it went. Got to P5 which is a credit to the team. The car was really quick!
"I do know I have a lot of work to do. I feel that even though it was a P5 that there were areas I could have improved on."
