“Poor Vettel, I mean, he was like a Barrichello in that race"
Nico Rosberg may not be on the track anymore but he's still making himself be heard and the latest comment from the former Mercedes driver compares Sebastian Vettel to Rubens Barrichello.
Vettel was forced to let Charles Leclerc overtake him at the Belgian Grand Prix, won by his teammate prompting these comments from Rosberg. Vettel eventually finished down in fourth after both Mercedes drivers overtook him for the final podium places.
“Poor Vettel, I mean, he was like a Barrichello in that race, I mean just you know waving past your teammate and helping him out," Rosberg said in his race analysis vlog.
"Amazing a four-time [world champion] impressive."
For most of the season Vettel has been the preferred driver for the Ferrari team, benefitting from team orders. However, could this latest move see a change in dynamic?
“Let’s see how that plays out for Vettel but he won’t be very happy with this for sure. As I said in my [post-qualifying] video, Vettel was just struggling with the Ferrari at the moment, especially with the rear end because it’s very nervous," Rosberg adds.
"You just need the confidence on the rear end and he’s just not getting it from the car.”
