Carlos Sainz backs McLaren to come back stronger after consecutive DNFs
Carlos Sainz is backing McLaren to return to form soon after his second DNF in two races at Sunday's Italian Grand Prix.
Sainz looked set for a solid points finish after running in P6, but suffered from a loose wheel after his pit stop and had to pull over just after leaving the pitlane.
Lando Norris scored a point for McLaren, meaning that the team didn't leave Italy empty handed, but Renault's 22 point haul has pulled them back in contention for fourth in the constructors' standings.
Sainz tweeted after the race: "Shame we couldn’t convert that potential P6. We win and we lose together. Our guys have been outstanding all year but today it was not meant to be. I’m sure we'll come back stronger from this. Heads up high."
