Hamilton maximised power from his engine to overtake Charles Leclerc

Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton maximised Mercedes power to overtake Ferrari's, Charles Leclerc. Since the return of the break following the summer Leclerc has won both the races in Belgium and most recently in Italy last weekend.
Hamilton has still been recording strong finishes but has been behind the 21-year-old in recent races which have come as a slight bit of concern.
"The whole season has already noticed that Ferrari is faster on the straights than we are. That's their big strength, but we're faster on the bends,” Mercedes strategy director James Vowles revealed after the Italian Grand Prix.
"Lewis got everything out of the motor in Italy to possibly intercept Leclerc. We have various adjustment options for our drive unit to achieve maximum performance in the short term, for example in an overtaking manoeuvre.
"Lewis has tried this as well. But it just was not enough to get past Leclerc. "
The battle between the two will recommence next weekend when the grid heads to Singapore for a night race.
