Ecclestone cannot split Hamilton and Verstappen
Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have thrown up one of the battles of the season at the Hungarian Grand Prix, and Bernie Ecclestone has weighed in on the debate as to who is the superior driver.
Lewis Hamilton has won eight races this season and is on course for a sixth World Championship. Verstappen meanwhile has been debatably the most impressive driver this season winning two races as well as achieving a maiden pole at the Hungaroring. Both drivers went head to head on that occasion, as Hamilton hunted Verstappen down in the closing stages, the Brit eventually coming out on top.
The debate over who is the better driver has raged over the last few months with the likes of Nico Rosberg giving several controversial opinions. Bernie however, admitted he can't split the two, insisting they are two different drivers.
“They are two different drivers, two completely different types. They also win their races in different ways," Ecclestone told Auto Motor und Sport.
"That is why the choice is difficult for me. We could really compare them in the same car. I hope so."
