"Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are the best drivers in F1!"
- Bobby Vincent
Formula 1 journalist Peter Windsor believes the trio of Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are "really far above" the rest of the grid in terms of driving ability.
Leclerc has just qualified for his fourth pole position in succession, as he looks for his third win in four races on Sunday afternoon. The Monegasque driver was clear of Hamilton in P2 by more than four-tenths of a second.
"Absolutely phenomenal drive by Charles," Windsor said in his latest video. "He is really in the form of his life. The direction opted surprisingly for the drive of Sebastian (Vettel) in which you really see that it is raking in the corners.
"Leclerc is then so subtle in those turns and therefore makes a real difference in Turn 13."
Windsor has been a big fan of Leclerc ever since he joined Sauber last season for his rookie F1 campaign, but sees two other drivers on the 21-year-old's level: "Hamilton is at the same level as Leclerc, because that Mercedes car cannot match the Ferrari, but Lewis squeezes it out again. His round was really great again. They are really far above the other drivers.
"I must, however, add one name to it, because that is of course Verstappen. That Red Bull car could not be driven, as (Alex) Albon showed again. Then it really is a great achievement that Verstappen manages to put down. The three of them are really the top drivers."
