Norris with mixed feelings after Friday in Mexico
Lando Norris has admitted he's satisfied with the team's performance on Friday but is targeting more improvement in Mexico. The rookie finished 14th in FP1 and then tenth in the second practice session.
McLaren have all but wrapped up the best of the rest accolade thanks to the work of Carlos Sainz and Norris this season. Norris set a best time of 1:18.349 during FP2, which was enough for tenth, a marked improvement on 14th from the first session of the day.
With his first sessions at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez under his belt, Norris is satisfied with his day's work but is still targeting much more for the rest of the weekend
“It was an okay kind of a day. I struggled with locking into Turn One and we’ve had a few niggles with the car. Things were better in FP2 and especially near the end of the session," Norris said in McLaren's Friday report.
“The main thing is that there are clear points for the team and I to work on. There’s plenty of work for us to do overnight but I’m sure we’ll come back stronger tomorrow.”
