Wolff: "He is the embodiment of talent"
Lewis Hamilton wrapped up title number six in Austin as P2 at the US Grand Prix was enough to wrap up the World Championship. Toto Wolff believes Mercedes will try to give him a car to make it seven, so there's no reason why he can't match Michael Schumacher's record.
Despite Valtteri Bottas winning the race at the Circuit of the Americas, Lewis Hamilton did what he needed to do and finish high enough to wrap up his third World Championship in a row. Hamilton is now only one behind, Michael Schumacher's record of seven World Championships something that looked unbeatable before Mercedes' dominance.
Toto Wolff believes there is no reason why Hamilton can't make it title number seven and that they'll try to give him a car to do so.
"There is a reason why that record exists: it is incredibly clever," Wolff said as quoted by Motorsport.com.
"I think if we can offer our drivers a competitive car next year, we will continue to work on the negatives and make as few mistakes as possible, there is no reason why he cannot go for a seventh.
"He just drives really fast in cars. He is the embodiment of talent and the pursuit of self-improvement. That is the mentality that is needed and why he performs at such an extremely high level.
"Through that combination, he stands out above the rest You never want to give yourself or others a ten, because there is always room for improvement."
