Rosberg: "Hamilton has learnt his lesson from me"
Nico Rosberg believes Lewis Hamilton has learnt his lesson from the 2016 Formula 1 world champion. Rosberg describes a continuation of good form from Hamilton post winning the F1 world championship in 2019.
Hamilton wrapped up the title early in 2015 and a dip in performance and results gave Rosberg important momentum going into the 2016 season. Rosberg insists Hamilton has learnt his lesson and is keen on getting a good end to the season to keep winter momentum and confidence away from Valtteri Bottas.
"It's so important to end the season on a high because you need to go into the winter break on a high. You know the saying in F1, 'you're only as good as your last race' so if you finish the season on a high, that's how you do the winter break with confidence and you start the next year by hitting the ground running," Rosberg explained in his latest vlog.
"I think Lewis has learnt his lesson there because in my time he sort of dropped the ball at the end of the season when he won the championship and that let me win the last three races and that gave me a springboard into the following year and he was on the back-foot. I think he'll stay on it this year because these races count for the following season."
