Leclerc opens the Ferrari door for Hamilton
Charles Leclerc has left the Ferrari door open for Lewis Hamilton as rumours continue to circulate regarding the possibility of the six-time World Champion joining the Scuderia from Mercedes.
Hamilton has enjoyed plenty of success with Mercedes, winning five World Championships, including the last three titles, making him the second most decorated F1 driver in terms of Drivers' Championships. His sixth Drivers' Championship included 11 race wins rounded off with a grand slam at the Abu Dhabi season finale.
Despite Hamilton's dominance with the Silver Arrows, Hamilton has regularly been linked with a move to Ferrari and Toto Wolff said it was a 25% possibility. Charles Leclerc has admitted he'd love to race against the Brit at Ferrari.
When asked if he'd welcome Hamilton as a teammate, the Monegasque answered: “Of course.
“At the end, we are in Formula One and we want to fight against the best," he said as quoted by The Guardian.
“I’ve had a big opportunity this year to have Seb next to me who is a four time World Champion and I’ve learned a lot from him.
“You can always learn from this type of champion so yeah, of course.”
