Ferrari looking to add a female racer to driver academy
- Tom Mason
Ferrari has a strong level of talent coming through the young driver program, but one thing they feel is missing is a female member. The young Ferrari driver academy includes the likes of Mick Schumacher and Robert Shwartzman who will both race in F2 next season.
"We are increasing the number of drivers of the Ferrari Driver Academy next year," Mattia Binotto said as quoted by Reuters.
"A few other drivers will join. I'm not in the position to tell you how many and who, but it's something on which we are working very hard."
"The Academy also looks for women in the future -- women should be part of the Ferrari Driver Academy.
"That's something on which we are working right now to make sure that it may happen very soon".
Current Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc came through the Ferrari driver academy and was key in making him the driver he is now.
