Lewis Hamilton should make Ferrari move “after he has beaten all the records”

Former Formula 1 driver Gerhard Berger has said that Lewis Hamilton should make a move to Ferrari once he has “beaten all the records” with his team at Mercedes after speculation of a 2021 switch.
Berger, who drove for Ferrari for six seasons across two spells at the Scuderia, feels Hamilton would love the mentality of the Scuderia if he made the move from Mercedes.
“For Lewis, I could not recommend to any driver more than if you can at one time in your career take the chance to drive for Ferrari,” the Austrian told The Guardian.
“It is an outstanding experience.”
“I was affected very much because I love Ferrari, I loved the Italian mentality, the brand and I think Lewis would. Most of the drivers love it but it has to be right on timing.”
But the Austrian believes that a move in 2021 would be too soon for the Briton to leave a winning team in the Silver Arrows that has seen him claim five of his six World Championships.
“I think he should go to Ferrari but after he has beaten all the records,” Berger added.
“It would be too much to do it before because he has such a phenomenal team around him.
“You never leave a winning team, so perhaps it is not the right moment to do it now.”
