Perez aiming high with Racing Point in 2020
- Tom Mason
Sergio Perez has revealed that he is aiming high for next season, admitting the team's main goal for 2020 is to finish fourth in the constructors' standings.
This comes despite the team finishing in seventh on 73 points, 72 behind fourth-place McLaren.
"We want to finish fourth, that is our main goal," Perez told Auto Motorsport.
"We didn't improve as much as we wanted. We cannot be satisfied with that. We were just too late and had to catch up too much. But we have put a lot into next year.
"At this point in time, every team is clearly optimistic about the coming year. It doesn't matter where you start, but where you stop. The World Cup table counts to Abu Dhabi."
The Mexican managed to finish inside the top ten in the drivers' standings, three points ahead of Lando Norris.
