Robert Kubica set to be on-track five times across 2020 Formula 1 season
The Polish media believe Robert Kubica will venture out on track on five different occasions during the 2020 Formula 1 season. The former Williams driver signed as a reserve driver for Alfa Romeo and is expected to appear in five Friday morning practice sessions.
Przeglad Sportowy, a Polish sports company, report that Kubica will do five FP1 sessions along with a winter test session next month. The 35-year-old has had a seat fitting in preparation for this.
Kubica had a life-changing crash in 2011 whilst rallying. He went on to make his Formula 1 return last season for Williams but due to the poor performance of the Williams car, Kubica was unable to compete at every race. Though he was out-qualified by his rookie teammate George Russell at all 21 race weekends.
In addition to his role as reserve driver, Kubica also wants to work in another race series. There are rumors that the Pole is about to sign a contract with BMW for a place in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, better known as DTM.
