Binotto targeting more women in the Ferrari driver academy
Mattia Binotto has insisted it is important that women are apart of the Ferrari driver academy with the Ferrari boss admitting it is important the team are looking to be stronger in the long term.
Susie Wolff was the last female to participate in a Grand Prix weekend when she drove in free practise at the British Grand Prix.
The likes of Mick Schumacher and Giuliano Alesi are currently in the setup but there are no female drivers. Mattia Binotto is looking to the future and believes it is important for women to be apart of it.
“We need to look at the future generation of talent for Ferrari,” Binotto told the Formula 1 website.
“The Academy [is also looking] for women in the future. Women should be part of the Ferrari Academy. That's something on which we are working right now to make sure that it may happen very soon.
“I think it's showing… Ferrari is always investing to make sure we can be stronger and stronger in the medium [and] long-term view.”
