Mattia Binotto on Sebastian Vettel's contract: "We'll discuss this over dinner"
Sebastian Vettel's future in Formula 1 is still uncertain. However, it seems that Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto is eager to try and hold onto the four-time world champion and has said that he will sit down with the GErman over dinner and discuss the situation.
Vettel indicated in this afternoon's press conference that he was committed as ever to succeeding with the team and that he wants to win with Ferrari.
Binotto would like this to happen as well but there is no hiding the fact that Vettel has struggled to perform over the last couple of seasons. The German's contract runs out at the end of the season and the future is still unclear for both parties.
"We'll discuss this over dinner," Binotto said. "I've known Seb for a long time, even before I became team boss, but before that. But now I know him better and better. We're very natural in discussions, we don't really have an appointment. We're going to talk, though."
Many thought that Vettel could have announced his retirement from the sport for the end of the season today. However, it seems that he will wait and see how he performs this season before cementing his future anywhere.
