Ferrari still set to travel to Australia despite coronavirus troubles
As it stands, a Ferrari spokesperson says they still have the green light to fly to Australia for the first race of the Formula 1 season in just over a week. Despite the global coronavirus issue, it seems as if Formula 1's race in Australia and Bahrain will go ahead.
With the situation getting worse in Italy, flights from the country are getting cancelled. This would cause problems for Ferrari, AlphaTauri and Pirelli. Formula 1 needs 16 cars on the grid to race, and this number will be tight if there are any problems elsewhere.
But, as it stands it seems as if Ferrari will still be able to travel from Italy.
"Contrary to what has been reported, and despite knowing that the situation is constantly evolving, at the moment our departure for Australia and Bahrain is confirmed," a Ferrari spokesman told Ansa news agency.
