Robert Kubica on Williams: "There were people who could have done better work"
Robert Kubica believes that he would still be racing in Formula 1 if the Williams car last year was more competitive. Instead, Kubica was replaced by Nicholas Latifi forcing the Pole to take up a test driver role for Alfa Romeo and also a DTM drive with BMW.
“It is possible that if I had a better car last year, I would not be sitting here, I would be preparing to race in Australia," he told Gosc Radio Zet.
“At Williams, I found a group of people who know what they are doing, but there were others who could have done better work."
Williams have struggled the past two years and it seems that this has impacted the team's motivation to work hard. Despite the disappointing year at Williams, Kubica is grateful to have made it back to the sport.
“I think I’m lucky anyway because many of my colleagues with great talent never got to Formula 1,” he concluded.
Kubica's comeback story is truly inspirational and he will still be looking for racing success in 2020.
