Sergio Sette Camara will be competing in the Japanese Super Formula next season. The reserve driver of Red Bull Racing will be Stoffel Vandoorne and Pierre Gasly. The Brazilian will be in action for Motopark/Team B-Max in 2020.

Originally Pietro Fittipaldi was supposed to sit down, but due to 'conflicting interests of the sponsors' this did not happen. Sette Camara gets Charles Milesi as a teammate. In 2015 and 2016 Camara also competed for Motopark, at that time in European Formula 3. In 2017 he also drove the Macau GP for the formation.

“I am confident this is the best direction for my career,” Sette Camara is quoted by Motorsport.com and others. The 21-year-old driver says he is looking forward to his Asian adventure. "Super Formula are the quickest racing cars after Formula 1, and the teams here are working at the highest level. “I want to thank B-Max with Motopark for this opportunity – I have worked with them before and I am sure we can achieve great things in this series too.”

Motopark happy to contract Camara

The team boss of Motopark is also pleased with the arrival of Camara. "I’m delighted to welcome Sergio back to our team", said Timo Rumpfkeil. "He needs no introduction: he’s one of the most exciting talents out there and it’s always a great pleasure to work with such a quality driver."

So Rumpfkeil knows the third Red Bull driver well from a few years back. "It very much feels like he’s coming home. It will work out a clear advantage that we know him very well and vice versa, as this is going to allow us to start on a high level right from go", the chief concluded.
