All motor sport events in the United Kingdom suspended until June
- GPblog.com
Great Britain was the last country in Europe where sports were played last week and all motorsport activities were suspended. This week they will continue, by extending these measures until June.
The British government has decided that no more motor sport events will be held tomorrow until 31 May. This means that a number of championships of renown, such as the BTCC and the BSB, have already lost almost half of their racing calendar.
The date of 31 May is probably not entirely coincidental, as the major international events, such as the World Superbike, MotoGP and Formula 1, are all scheduled for the following months. Although the European Football Championship and the Olympic Games will not take place then, people will still have hope for these races.
The calendar for these races is as follows:
Main UK motorsport events 2020 | ||
Date | Event | Circuit |
4 & 5 July | World Superbike | Donington Park |
19 July | Formule 1 | Silverstone |
30 August | MotoGP | Silverstone |
