Norris on handing in salary: "It's the best we can do for the team"

Lando Norris fully supports McLaren's decision to send some on the personel on paid leave. Because the factory has to close due to the coronavirus, everything is at a standstill. Mclaren therefore feels obliged to send part of the team on leave. Norris thinks it was the best option for the team.
"It's best for everyone, including myself. At the moment we have to assure ourselves that everyone will be able to go back to work when we are allowed back into the factories. These are simply difficult times for drivers, employees and everyone in Formula 1. There are so many people working on the car in the winter. All that progress has come to a complete standstill", Norris says to Sky Sports.
Best for the team
Norris does not expect that all races will be held this season. "Maybe we don't even do some races this season. Of course I hope not, but there isn't much we can do".The financial costs because everything is at a standstill at McLaren are so big that the board has decided to send team members on leave. According to Norris this is a difficult decision, but the right one.
"To see that everyone is sitting at home, when they actually want to improve the car, is difficult. However, it is the best thing we can do for the team to be sure that we can get back to work and that everything can return to normal".
