Eddie Jordan is the man who got Michael Schumacher into Formula 1. He made his debut in 1991. Nevertheless Jordan is of the opinion that Schumacher is not the best driver of all time. In the Irish podcast Of The Ball Jordan said where he thinks Schumacher is not the best driver of all time, and who he is.

"Looking back at all the contracts I had to sign with Ferrari when Schumacher was sitting there. He was really talented, but there's one thing that speaks to him. In every contract I had to sign on behalf of Irvine, Barrichello or anyone else, there was a clause stating that they should always play the second violin behind Schumacher. I wish he was the best, but he's not," Jordan explains. Irvine and Barrichello were both Jordan drivers as well.

A surprising number one

So Jordan doesn't put Schumacher at number 1, but which driver does? "Of course Schumacher has an extraordinary talent, but so did [Ayrton] Senna. It's a tricky choice. I really don't think either one of them is the best driver I've seen. Then I always come back to Alain Prost". Jordan himself indicates that the choice for Prost is not a normal choice.

"People always say: are you serious? But you have to take a good look. He's won the world championship four times. On top of that he also came close to two more titles". Jordan has clearly thought about his choice, moreover he knows Prost from his period as a test driver at McLaren. "What I have always found special about him is that he is a real team player", Jordan concludes.
