Williams: "We have to race again to survive''

In the times of the coronavirus it is a matter of survival for Formula 1 teams. Now that there is no income, but still a lot of expenses, small teams can only hope that we will get going again soon.
''It's an extremely difficult position we're in at the moment and that's why we have so much consultation with the team bosses. For us, racing is essential. We don't have large financial reserves so we have to start racing as soon as possible, but if that is safe of course'', says Claire Williams at Sky Sports.
Williams wants to survive
''The model of Formula 1 has been exposed by this crisis and it is clear that something has to be done, because this is not sustainable in the long term. Survival is the most important thing for us now and we are doing everything we can to make it happen, but it is even more important that soon we will have an organization in which not everything has been in vain''.
The latter is still a question, since each team has its own wishes and obligations. ''Formula 1 is currently working well together. The top team understands our problems and we know what we ask of the top teams. However, it is a pity that we had to postpone the rules of 2021, because that was a nice step for the sport. If we would have had those rules earlier, there would have been fewer problems now," concludes Williams, who is optimistic about the chances of survival.
