Officials have great confidence in the continuation of the Austrian Grand Prix. Earlier Helmut Marko indicated that there is a good chance of a first Grand Prix in Austria and now a report, in the hands of the Austrian radio station Ö3, shows that the officials also have confidence in the continuation of the Grand Prix.

In Austria it seems that the coronavirus outbreak is reasonably under control, and therefore the discussions on a Grand Prix are already beginning to take reasonable shape. The original date for the race would be July 5, but several sources are already talking about a double Grand Prix, so there will be a second race on July 12 in Austria.

No new outbreak

One of the most important conditions for a Grand Prix would be that there would not be another outbreak of COVID-19. The Austrian radio station is able to report that "only a second wave of infection will prevent a season start in Spielberg". So everything seems to be concretely preparing for a first Grand Prix in the current season in Spielberg.

For now France is still the first Grand Prix on the schedule, but probably this Grand Prix will be postponed. France is one of the hardest hit countries in Formula 1. Whether Formula 1 has already agreed to the plans in Austria is still unclear. What is certain is that a first Formula 1 Grand Prix will come closer and closer.
