Leclerc looks at Vettel: ''I'd respect it if he took a different path''

Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel didn't always seem to be able to get through a door in 2020, but appearances can be deceiving. At least, that's what everyone at Ferrari will tell and so will Leclerc in conversation with Sky Sports.
Vettel and Leclerc
''Of course it was just as difficult after our collision in Brazil, but the relationship with Seb is much better than people on the outside think. From beginning to end that relationship has been very good and if something had happened on the track, we always said it afterwards'', says the Ferrari driver.
The incident in Brazil did, of course, stand out in 2020. Leclerc and Vettel drove in great places to pick up a lot of points in the battle for third place with the drivers, but on the straight the two drove into each other and didn't make it over the finish line. However, the two had quickly finished the race.
Contract award Vettel
''After the race it was quickly good between us and that's the way it should be. It's also what I really like about Seb. Communicating is very easy and I would like him to stay at Ferrari'', Leclerc says about the contract situation of his teammate. ''I'd also respect it if he decides otherwise.''
Reportedly, Sebastian has been offered a one-year deal by Ferrari and conditions that put him on an equal footing with Charles. Vettel would have declined that first offer and the question is whether he still wants to stay under those conditions. However, there don't seem to be many other options for Vettel, where Ferrari will have choice enough to replace him.
