Sunday is already the fourth edition of the virtual Formula 1 race. Where Zandvoort was the scene of the official Formula 1 race this weekend, the drivers are now allowed to race on the virtual circuit of Brazil.

On to Brazil

The virtual Grand Prix of F1 looked like a big flop at the beginning. Of all the Formula 1 drivers, only Lando Norris took part, so there seemed little enthusiasm for it. A week later everything was better organised and the drivers raced over the circuit of Australia with some drivers from F1.

Also this weekend there will be another race, because according to the former calendar there would also be a race, but that can't be held on the original circuit. The races will be held on the F1 2019-game of Codemasters and the circuit of Zandvoort has not been added yet.

No Norris and Verstappen

There are already five official F1 drivers among the participants for this weekend. Charles Leclerc is back at the start after his previous victories and Alexander Albon, George Russell, Antonio Giovinazzi and Nicholas Latifi will also take part in the event. Albon will be joined by Cricket player Ben Stokes at Red Bull Racing, as Max Verstappen refuses to play the F1 2019 game.

The other notable absent is Lando Norris. The Briton participated in every edition so far, but is not (yet) on the participants list. The Brit was advised by Verstappen to remove the game as it is not realistic, so maybe Norris has answered the call of the Dutchman.

The race starts Sunday at 19:00 Dutch time and can be followed live at GPblog.
