Prost expects strong Red Bull Racing: "We've seen strange things in Barcelona"

Anyone who has followed the winter tests at the Barcelona circuit in February knows that Mercedes looked very strong there and just like previous seasons it seems to be the team to beat. At one of the chasing teams however, they are not so sure yet.
Alain Prost, who advises the Renault team as four time world champion, has seen indications of a very competitive Red Bull Racing. The likely fact that the first two races will be organised on their 'own' circuit in Austria will also be in favour of the team from Milton Keynes.
"We still don't know which of the top three teams will be the best team", says the French man in the 'F1 Nation' podcast of Liberty Media. "We have seen strange things in Barcelona. It will be very open. Perhaps there will be a small surprise in Austria. I think that Red Bull will be very competitive on this circuit".
About the chances of his own team, Prost is something more pessimistic. He assumes that, like last season, they operate somewhere in the middle of the field. He is especially worried about the speed of competitor Racing Point, which, with a car that looks suspiciously much like a Mercedes, could even threaten the position of Ferrari.
