De La Rosa: "The words of Vettel sounded like a farewell"
- GPblog.com
Because Sebastian Vettel does not have a team yet for next season, there is a lot of speculation about his future. Will he choose McLaren or will he go to Mercedes anyway. Opinions differ and expectations go in all directions. The current driver of Ferrari himself is still holding his own. Bernie Ecclestone expects Vettel to have opportunities.
"If I were him, I'd go for a team that's not a top team yet," Ecclestone tells Bild. "Then I'd try to build the team around me. I see no reason why he would go to Mercedes. He could be a huge asset to a team under construction and it would also be good for him to start all over again".
Switch to Mercedes only option
However, former F1 driver Pedro de la Rosa thinks otherwise. He speaks his mind to Marca. "I wonder if it is useful for Vettel to go to a team that performs less than Ferrari. If Vettel is already going, it should be with Mercedes". The words of de la Rosa are quite clear, but still he has another scenario in mind.
"He no longer talks about winning races or world championships, but about wanting a good future. That future probably won't lie with racing. His words sound like a farewell", said the Spaniard.
