Ferrari: "Don't know if Vettel didn't understand the car or we didn't understand"

Whereas after the announcements of the contract extension for Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen this winter it was quiet for a few months, the announcements for 2021 now seem to have gained momentum. Everyone was waiting to see what would happen to Sebastian Vettel.
Once it is known that he won't be driving for Ferrari next season, the seats could be filled very quickly. Rumour has it that Ferrari will announce the arrival of Carlos Sainz next Thursday. Recent statements by Piero Ferrari also point in that direction.
"Give another youngster a chance? I would like to do it for Ferrari, but not a young driver coming from Formula 2, but rather a young driver who already has a few years of experience. That would be much better", said the son of Enzo Ferrari to the ANSA press agency.
End of a marriage
It's a description that fits Sainz perfectly. He's only 25, but he's ridden more than 100 Grands Prix anyway. Whoever it is, he will have to maintain a good relationship with the team. The departure of Vettel underlines how important that is at Ferrari. Ferrari already sees it as the end of a marriage.
"I had a lot of confidence and appreciation for Sebastian because he has driven so many great races. We don't live well together anymore and we will get a divorce. It is like a marriage that ends. I don't know if he didn't understand the car or if we didn't understand, but things like that can happen".
