Saward: "Basically, that's the only option for Vettel in 2021"

The chances for Sebastian Vettel in a top team are getting smaller and smaller. Red Bull Racing and Mercedes have so far had no reason to change with the current line-up. Vettel will therefore have to look for an alternative, in order to still be on the grid in 2021. Joe Saward thinks there is only one possibility left for Vettel.
"The problem for Vettel is that he wants to be paid to his level, even if he is smart enough to understand that the current market is changing and that drivers' salaries will be reduced in the coming years," explains Saward at Autoweek.com. Saward expects that one of the only options that Vettel still has is at Renault.
He knows what it's like out there
"So the salary will most likely be lower. Renault doesn't have as much money as the top teams, but if Cyril Abiteboul goes to the driver of Renault for more money so that Vettel will be contracted, that won't be difficult". The marketing value of Vettel could persuade Renault to bring the German to the French team.
"Having a four-time world champion would be a great way to promote the brand. Of course it shouldn't be forgotten that Vettel won his four world championships with Renault engines, so he already knows the French company reasonably well," Saward said.
