Raikonnen receives a very special gift from Ferrari
- GPblog.com
Kimi Raikkonen has had a very special delivery. The former Ferrari driver was sent the car of his last F1 victory by the Italian team. The Finn won for the last time in America 2018, ahead of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Now the driver has received the winning car as a thank you.
The current driver of Alfa Romeo is the last Ferrari world champion, after winning the championship in his first year with the team in 2007. In the end he managed to stay with the team for three years, after a disappointing 2009 in which he temporarily stepped out of Formula 1.
Return to Ferrari
After three years the feeling for F1 started to return and after two years for the Lotus team, Raikkonen returned to Ferrari. There he 'only' won once and that was his last victory so far. In 2019 the Finn had to make way for Charles Leclerc.
In his turn Raikkonen went back to Alfa Romeo, where he is far from finished. As a thank you for all the years at Ferrari, the team therefore sent Raikkonen's car to his home in Finland.
