Video: Mercedes prepares for corona measures during new season
- GPblog.com
Mercedes is preparing for the new season, for which the car of 2018 will be restarted. The team prepares for a two-day test at Silverstone with the two-year-old W09.
Corona protocols
The test is mainly meant to see how the team has to deal with different corona protocols. For example, face masks have to be worn during the races and a suitable distance is kept as much as possible.
Keeping that distance is clearly visible on the video of the team. Although the staff still seems to have to get used to the new rules. The mechanics would normally be close to the car when it is started, but this time they keep an appropriate distance from each other.
Travelling to Great Britain
Drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will both compete in the 2018 championship car. As of today there are new corona measures in place in Great Britain. For example, everyone entering the country will have to spend two weeks in quarantine from now on. By travelling to the UK earlier, the drivers were able to prevent this.
The sound of an @F1 engine rumbles through the factory again!
