In March the Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko revealed that Max Verstappen was very afraid of the coronavirus. Verstappen reacted roughly three months later to the statement. The situation in the world seems to have changed and Verstappen is also a lot more reassured.

It remains to be seen if the coronavirus is really over its peak in a large part of the countries. It seems so, but a second wave is not excluded. Nevertheless, the current situation is good enough to start racing again.

In conversation with the Austrian Kronen Zeitung, Helmut Marko proclaimed in March that the Red Bull number one, Verstappen, was very afraid of the coronavirus. The same Marko was also discredited around that time because he had proposed to let both Verstappen and Albon catch the virus, so that they were rid of it. This turned out to be out of context.

No problem according to Verstappen

The situation has changed and with the approach of July and the start of the 2020 season the Dutchman is at ease. The driver himself indicates to be more relaxed. In response to Marko's statement in March Verstappen explains to Sky:

"I don't think there will be any problems. We have all been carefully tested and no one was positive in the test".
