It is unlikely that Red Bull Racing will be able to test an old car in the run-up to the Austrian Grand Prix, so Max Verstappen will have to make sure he has some mileage in other ways. Recently the Dutch driver would have made an big impression during a test with a GT car.
That's what La Gazzetta dello Sport knows Saturday. According to the well-known pink sports newspaper, the Verstappen family owns several GT cars that would be parked in Belgium. On an unspecified circuit Verstappen entered the asphalt for a private session. For this, the eight-time Grand Prix winner enlisted the help of an as yet unknown racing team from the Netherlands.
Engineers impressed
The Italian medium goes on to write that Verstappen would have made an immediate impression. The mechanics and engineers of the team would have been impressed by how quickly Verstappen was. After a few laps the 21-year old Limburger was even faster than the official drivers of the GT team.
In less than three weeks the Red Bull driver will be able to show it in Spielberg. Then the Formula 1 season of 2020 will start with a race on the Red Bull Ring.
