Mercedes confirms concern for lack of parts: 'Third race possible problem'.

Formula 1 is trying to make up for lost time this summer by completing as many races as possible in the shortest possible time. They do take into account the logistic limitations of the different parties, but still the teams are worried if they will be able to take enough parts with them.
Due to the double races in Austria and Great Britain, six Grand Prixs will be held in seven weeks from the first weekend of July. This has never happened before and anonymous sources within the teams reported at the beginning of the month that they were worried about this. Depending on how much damage is done, there may be a shortage of parts.
Mercedes can now confirm these concerns to the Spanish newspaper AS. "It is a unique challenge for us. If you have damage in the first race, you usually don't have a problem in the following Grand Prix because you have spare parts. However, if you add a third race, we may not have any spare parts now".
The fact that this is a possible problem right now is due to the fact that the factories have been at a standstill for a long time and have therefore experienced a delay in the production of spare parts. In addition, Mercedes wants to avoid producing unnecessarily parts in order to be as efficient as possible during these Corona times.
