Vettel and Leclerc send Ferrari from 2018 to the circuit of Mugello
- GPblog.com
Ferrari started the test on Tuesday morning at the circuit of Mugello. Sebastian Vettel is the first to enter the track, on a circuit that could appear on the Formula 1 calendar in 2020.
After testing Mercedes, Racing Point, Renault and McLaren, it is now Ferrari's turn to do some more laps on a circuit. Mercedes came into action with an old car at Silverstone, Racing Point drove the newest car on the same circuit, Renault tested with the 2018 car on the Red Bull Ring and McLaren had to do it with F3 cars at Silverstone.
Ferrari goes on the track
Ferrari comes today with Charles Leclerc and Vettel on the track with the Ferrari SF71-H from 2018. The drivers will be allowed to make laps over Mugello, which is mainly known for its MotoGP races, but is currently named as a candidate for a spot on the 2020 F1 calendar. The link with this test is therefore quickly made.
This week Ferrari is not the only team that will appear on the track, because on Wednesday AphaTauri will be filming at Imola, taking advantage of the open film day to make 100 kilometres with the current car. Red Bull Racing reportedly does the same on Thursday at Silverstone, where Alfa Romeo, Haas and Williams are still inside for the time being.
