Zanardi situation: "They're gonna see if they can wake him up soon"

The men at the table at the Formula 1 Café on Ziggo Sport were unable to react last friday to the accident of Alex Zanardi, who is now fighting for his life in the hospital of Siena. That's why they will discuss it this week, with Tom Coronel having information from close to the family.
Coronel drove for many years for ROAL motorsport, the racing team of Roberto Ravaglia that is active in touring car championships with BMW. Zanardi, who once drove for the team, was always there and they helped him with the development of his wheelchair bike, among other things. Coronel's former team boss is still in close contact with the Zanardi family.
"I've just been calling with Roberto Ravaglia who's been on the phone all day with his [Zanardi] wife. We don't know much yet, except that they're still keeping him in a coma. But soon they'll see if they can wake him up."
Family Zanardi has to deal with misfortune again
Clearly, the family is in a tragic situation right now. Moreover, the accident is not strange to them. Besides the fact that Zanardi himself lost both legs at one time or another, they have also lost loved ones through accidents before.
"His wife is with him non-stop, his son is with him non-stop, and so is his mother. In Italy you always stay very close with your mother. His father died at a very young age and his sister died in a traffic accident. There's a lot going on in that family at the moment."
