Lando Norris saw during the break that his current teammate, Carlos Sainz, will leave to Ferrari at the end of the season. Norris will be accompanied by Daniel Ricciardo in 2021 and is happy for all parties.
''Someone had to replace Sebastian Vettel and I soon had the idea that Carlos was an option. I'm fine at my place with McLaren, but I knew he was a guy who had a chance at that seat. You never know if and when it will be announced by the teams," said the British at the press conference in Austria.
Norris happy for Sainz
"I'm very happy for him and he certainly deserved it. He drove very well last season and we will do that again this year. We will continue to do our best to get McLaren to the top and he will help with that this year," said Norris, who will have Ricciardo next to him as a teammate from 2021.
''I see him at press events and interviews, but personally I don't know him very well. As a driver he is very different from Carlos and I think every driver has his own characteristics. For me it is important to find his strengths and weaknesses. I have to learn from the strengths and exploit the weaknesses'', Norris concludes with determination.
