Horner points to Hamilton: "Lewis misjudged the situation"
Christian Horner protected his driver Alexander Albon after the disappointing Grand Prix of Austria. It was said that the British Thai should have been more patient and waited for a DRS zone, but Horner disagrees.
"He did well. It wasn't that it went wrong when he went into the corner. He was actually already save," said Horner to Sky Sports. The team boss doesn't blame Albon for trying at that point on the track. "You also have to look at the speed on the straights, they were faster there."
That's why Albon had to try to make the move on a turn. "We had more grip there. Hamilton misjudged the situation. A penalty of five seconds isn't enough. Lewis must apologize," said the Red Bull boss.
Not the same problem as Verstappen
The fact that Albon retired a little later was not due to the same problems that Verstappen had. "It was totally different. We turned the engine off as a precaution."
