Norris fears speedy Racing Point: "Even Mercedes has to worry"
McLaren can have a good season this year and take advantage of the hole left by Ferrari. However, Lando Norris had trouble with the wet qualifying and will face a grid penalty tomorrow.
Qualifying started pretty well for Lando Norris. "In Q1 and Q2 it wasn't bad at all. I just had to get used to the rain. Sometimes you couldn't see anything. You can't even see the car in front of you," said the young Brit to Sky Sports F1.
"In Q3 I was in the wrong position and then I ended up behind the Renault of Ricciardo or Ocon and I couldn't see the lines the other drivers were creating. Then I also suffered from aquaplaning. It was a difficult qualifying session, but very nice. I've never driven an F1 car on a wet track before". As a result Norris didn't get any further than P6 and will be demoted to P9 tomorrow before the start due to a grid penalty.
Sore back causes problems
The driver of McLaren suffered from pain in his back yesterday and today, which caused problems. "I don't know exactly what it is. It is something inside me. When I'm on the brake and the G-forces come in I feel the pain." Norris is also worried about the speed of Racing Point. "Even Mercedes has to worry," concluded the Brit.
