Racing Point: "Flattering that world champion Vettel talks about us like that"

After the second free practice, Otmar Szafnauer responded to the rumors about the arrival of Sebastian Vettel at Racing Point. The team boss likes the fact that Vettel talks full of praise about his team, but according to him that doesn't mean that the German is already contracted.
"I've said that in the past and it's flattering that a four-time world champion talks so well about our team. I can well imagine that five, six or seven years ago this hadn't happened", said Szafnauer in conversation with Sky Sports. The Romanian born knows that Racing Point had to fight hard for it. "We've come a long way in ten years. That's great."
Perez the victim?
The arrival of Vettel would be accompanied by Perez's departure. The Mexican has been riding for years for the race stable that used to go through life as Force India. "Checo has done a good job for us in recent years, gaining podium finishes, for example. He did a great job last week by almost taking Albon from P17. He's a real racer."
From 2021 onwards, the Szafnauer team will be known as the Aston Martin F1 Team. The British team may need some experience to really make the step to the top teams. "In the end, it's all about knowing how to win. Sebastian is a good driver. Time will tell us."
