AlphaTauri team defends Verstappen: "You could see that Max bounced quite hard"

Franz Tost is enormously impressed by how quickly the Red Bull Racing mechanics were able to replace the front of Max Verstappen's RB16 on Sunday afternoon. The AlphaTauri team boss calls it 'unbelievable' and goes on to say that such a touche with the wall could have happened to any driver in Formula 1.
"It wasn't just the nose that had to be replaced," Tost starts talking to ServusTV. At the Austrian television station, the former team boss of Verstappen tells us that much more than that had to be done by the mechanics. "The Red Bull guys have also changed parts of the suspension. I saw that because I was on the grid at the time with Helmut Marko to discuss something".
According to the 64-year-old chief it is of great class what the team managed to do around Verstappen in the last fifteen minutes before the Grand Prix. "It was unbelievable how fast they managed to do that. It was a fantastic performance, you can only congratulate them", he continues.
Tost defends Max
Tost doesn't blame Verstappen for hitting the wall in his outlap. The Austrian thinks it can happen to anyone. "You could see that Max bounced quite hard. In Hungary the speeds are not so high, the kerbs are not so dangerous either, but when the track is wet it gets tricky."
