The Formula 1 announced on Friday that a Grand Prix will be organized this year in Imola, Portimao and the Nürburgring. The season was of course already upside down, but also the second half of the season will have a completely different face.

However, one is also looking for a somewhat normal situation. Normally this Grands Prix would attract more than 100,000 spectators. Of course that is excluded this year, but at least two of these circuits are now looking at the possibility to allow spectators.

Portimao optimistic

Portimao's circuit management has expressed this wish right from the start and is looking for support in the fact that very few COVID-19 infections have been detected in the Algarve. So it won't be a full house, but one hopes for several tens of thousands of spectators.

At the Nürburgring people are a bit more cautious, but they also hope to be able to open the doors. "But we can't promise that yet, nothing has been approved. We are working on plans to receive spectators, just like they do in the Bundesliga", says circuit director Mirco Markfort to Motorsport.com.
