Ralf Schumacher: 'Red Bull Racing is in a difficult position'

Red Bull Racing has so far failed to live up to the high expectations. The team has too much trouble keeping up with Mercedes and to realize that they have a lot of work to do. With a shortened calendar in which the races follow each other faster, it seems like an impossible task. Former F1-driver Ralf Schumacher states that the balance of power will not change quickly.
Difficult situation at Red Bull Racing
At Sky Sport Germany the brother of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher says: "I know what it is like from my own experience. It's a damn difficult situation." This is not only limited to the team, as Red Bull Racing is also accountable to the owner, Dietrich Mateschitz.
"The owner wants to see success. They promised him that they would race for the World Championship or at least get closer, but it doesn't look like that at the moment." That's a little embarrassing for Red Bull as a company, because they're not losers, they're winners.
Or in Schumacher's words: "I'm sure the call [to the team] was friendly, but very determined. Didi Mateschitz never made a secret of it: Red Bull is not a brand that loses, but a brand that wins. But of course, it's not that easy now."
So Red Bull Racing is facing a challenge, because the gap has to close quickly if they are to be able to fight with Mercedes all season long. The difference in points is certainly not unbridgeable at the moment, but if Mercedes performs well again in the next three races and Red Bull Racing doesn't... it will look even more difficult.
