Last week three races were added to the calendar, Nurburgring, Imola and Portimão, this week it becomes clear, among other things, that Istanbul Park is in talks with Formula 1 about a Grand Prix in 2020 in Turkey.

Every day there are new rumours about the 2020 calendar. Because of the corona pandemic, it's a different year than usual. On Wednesday there was the rumour that FOM is looking at a 'double header' in Asia, namely on the circuit in Malaysia and in Vietnam.

Istanbul Park, Turkey

Motorsport Week reports that Istanbul Park is in talks with Formula 1 about a possible Grand Prix. It would mean another return of a former circuit on the calendar. Between 2005 and 2011 Formula 1 races were held on the circuit in Turkey.

For some time now Turkey wants to be back on the calendar and because of COVID-19 this long cherished wish would be fulfilled at least once. Officially the calendar counts at this moment thirteen races which all take place in Europe. FOM would like to go to at least fifteen races.
