Sebastian Vettel leaves Ferrari at the end of 2020, after failing to lead the team to the world title. According to former Formula 1 driver, Timo Glock, the German has not really had the chance either.

''I'm very sorry that people forget he's a four-time World Champion and that he's clearly made Ferrari compete again for the World Championship. His mistakes are now being highlighted and that only puts pressure on him, which in turn leads to mistakes," said Glock in the Konigspartie podcast.

Vettel didn't get the chance

According to Glock, his compatriot never really had a chance to make it his team. ''It was always a bit disappointing. There were also a lot of changes in management. Vettel has never been able to build his team around him as Michael Schumacher could'', says the former Formula 1 driver.

Glock acknowledges that Vettel didn't always perform well under pressure. ''It's never good for a driver to want to turn things around under a lot of pressure. It's a place he wasn't used to, because at Red Bull it was very different for him. That was a lot easier'', concludes Glock.
